Founded in 1925, Malmö SymfoniOrkester is the premier symphony orchestra of southern Sweden. With a focus on both standard and modern symphonic repertoire, MSO collaborates with prominent conductors and soloists to present a magnetic annual concert season. MSO has won critical acclaim for its numerous recordings and continues to cultivate its growing reputation via international tours. Malmö opens its new Symphony Center in 2015.

The city of Malmö lies at the heart of the Öresund region that links southern Sweden to Denmark. This dynamic and expanding area of nearly 4 million inhabitants is rapidly becoming one of northern Europe's major cultural and economic centers. Sweden's third largest city, Malmö benefits both from its own vibrant community and its proximity to the Danish capital, Copenhagen.  

The orchestra will provide an accompanist for all audition days (A=442).  Candidates will perform all audition rounds from behind a screen.  Non-EU citizens require a permit to work in Sweden. The Malmö Symphony Orchestra will apply for any necessary permits on behalf of winning candidates if needed.  MSO cannot guarantee permission will be granted in all cases.
